Arnis Minecraft is an open-source tool for generating detailed, real-world locations in Minecraft Java Edition using OpenStreetMap (OSM) geospatial data.
What it does
Arnis turns map data into playable Minecraft terrain and structures, letting you recreate cities, natural features, and landmarks at different scales.
- Generates real places based on OpenStreetMap data
- Recreates geographic and architectural details with adjustable detail level
- Handles large areas to build city-scale worlds
- Imports generated terrain directly into an existing Minecraft Java Edition world
- Open-source (GPL-3.0) for modification and redistribution
How to use Arnis Minecraft
Typical workflow:
- Download the latest release from the project’s GitHub page
- Run the program on your computer
- Select a rectangular area on the map to generate
- Choose an existing Minecraft world where the new area will be created
- Click Start Generation and wait for the process to finish
Notes and compatibility
Some objects (for example, certain residential complexes or niche map features) may not render correctly due to limitations in OpenStreetMap data. There is currently no phone version. Arnis works on Windows, macOS, and Linux and is free to download and use. It supports Minecraft version 1.21.4.
