Description

EPIK is a South Korean mobile photo editor best known for AI Yearbook, a feature that turns selfies into 90s-style “school yearbook” portraits.

Why EPIK went viral

Developed by SNOW Corporation, EPIK combines standard editing tools with AI. In 2023, AI Yearbook spread widely on social media as users shared nostalgic, retro-looking portrait sets inspired by American high school yearbooks.

How AI Yearbook works

AI Yearbook uses deep learning trained on 90s yearbook-style imagery. You upload multiple selfies, the app analyzes facial features, and it generates a set of new portraits in the chosen aesthetic.

Typical workflow:

  • Download EPIK from the App Store or Google Play and open AI Yearbook on the home screen
  • Upload 8–12 clear selfies (varied angles and expressions improve results)
  • Select your gender so the app can match outfits and styling
  • Choose processing speed: standard (about 24 hours) is around $5.99; express (about 2 hours) is $9.99

More than yearbook portraits

Beyond AI Yearbook, EPIK includes:

  • Face and body retouching
  • Image stylization (cartoon, painting, black-and-white film looks)
  • Color correction (brightness, contrast, saturation)
  • Creative tools (collages, stickers, text, mosaic effects)
  • Video editing with effects and object tracking

Some features are free, while unlimited access requires a subscription.
