Genmo is an AI tool for generating short videos online from a text prompt or an image. It includes advanced controls such as camera position and movement, and outputs clips that are typically 2–6 seconds long.
Access and language
To use Genmo for free, you must sign in with Google or Discord—video generation isn’t available without an account. The interface is in English, and prompts need to be entered in English (you can translate text from other languages using any translator).
How to generate a video
Start by writing a description and entering it in the prompt field. Then adjust camera motion and optional effects. If you don’t want to fine-tune settings, you can keep the defaults and submit.
Image-to-video and random prompts
Genmo also supports generating video from an uploaded image or photo, aiming to match the image’s style. You can combine image input with text prompts.
If you’re not sure what to create, there’s a random generation option (dice button) that auto-fills a prompt and settings—then you just click Submit.
Key notes
- Text-to-video generation with camera controls
- Image-to-video supported (can be combined with text)
- Free to use, but outputs include a watermark
- Requires Google or Discord sign-in
