Manus

Manus is an autonomous, general-purpose AI agent introduced by the Chinese companies ManusAI and Butterfly Effect. It’s designed to plan, analyze, and carry out complex tasks with minimal user involvement.

What Manus is

Manus belongs to “agentic AI” systems: unlike a standard language model, it can interact with the web and tools, gather information, and execute multi-step workflows to reach a goal. For example, it can handle research-heavy requests such as evaluating neighborhoods for housing by comparing factors like safety reports, rental prices, weather, and other conditions.

Key capabilities

• Breaks complex requests into steps, checks intermediate results, and adjusts actions to finish the task
• Browses websites and uses tools autonomously while showing its process in real time
• Works across multiple tabs and apps in the background
• Can use third-party services and APIs for tasks like ticket booking or content generation
• Supports tasks such as building simple websites, travel planning, financial market overviews with charts, and podcast editing

Access and availability

Manus is currently free to use in a closed beta. To request access, you need to submit the form on the official website; the ManusAI team then sends an access code by email. Russian is not available yet, but may be added later.
