Nano Banana

Nano Banana is the community nickname for Google’s image model in the Gemini ecosystem. Officially, it’s called Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, and it’s designed for quick, text-guided image editing with consistent results across multiple revisions.

Where the name comes from

“Nano Banana” started as a meme-style shorthand in engineering and community channels. Google later referenced it as “aka nano-banana” in a developer blog, and the nickname spread faster than the formal model name.

What it can do
