Project Artemis is an in-development game led by Brendan Greene, the creator of PUBG, at Playerunknown Productions. The team is building a first-person open world designed to be comparable in scale to planet Earth, using AI-driven generation.
Concept and scale
The core idea is a virtual Earth-sized world that players can explore across different biomes, climate zones, and geographic regions, with a focus on freedom of movement and discovery.
AI technology
To reach this scale, the developers plan to use advanced AI methods, including neural networks and machine-learning algorithms, to generate vast territories with a high level of detail and variation.
Gameplay and current status
Gameplay details have not been fully revealed, but the project is expected to include:
- Free exploration across a massive world
- Interaction with a dynamic ecosystem
- The ability to affect and change the environment
- Multiplayer elements for playing together
Project Artemis is still in active development and is not available to download yet. The team shares progress updates on platforms such as YouTube. The release is planned for 2026. Similar technology has been used in Prologue: Go Wayback! and Preface: Undiscovered World.
