Red Panda AI was the public codename for Recraft V3, not a separate model. The name appeared in early quality comparisons before the developer publicly connected it to Recraft V3. Websites that use Red Panda in their domains should therefore not automatically be treated as official Recraft services.
Where V3 sits next to V4 and V4.1
Recraft is a visual generation and editing platform aimed at designers, marketers, illustrators, and product teams. V3 was released in October 2024 and became known for its approach to typography, composition, and vector graphics. In 2026, however, Recraft V4 and V4.1 are the current generation. V3 remains available, but its historical performance in particular leaderboards should not be described as a current number-one ranking.

Ownership changes with the plan
Ownership rules depend on the plan. Images generated on the free plan are owned by Recraft, may be displayed in a public gallery, and are not licensed to the user for commercial use. On paid plans, generated images belong to the user, commercial use is permitted, and creations can remain private.
This distinction matters for client work, advertising, product packaging, and other commercial projects. A free account is suitable for exploration, but it should not be treated as a source of production-ready assets with unrestricted rights.
The design work where Recraft makes sense
Recraft is particularly useful when a project needs more than visually attractive AI art. Its combination of vectors, reusable styles, composition controls, and short generated text makes it relevant to design workflows. It does not replace a professional graphics editor, manual layout work, or legal review.
Quality varies by model, prompt, and the language used in the image. Complex logos, long copy, exact diagrams, and layouts with strict measurements may require several attempts and manual correction. Users also remain responsible for the rights to uploaded references and should avoid creating material that infringes copyright, trademarks, or a person’s image rights.
