StyleDrop is a Google research technology for generating images in a specific visual style from a text prompt. It can pick up a distinct style from one or more reference images and reproduce it across new scenes and subjects.
How it works
StyleDrop runs on top of Muse, a generative vision transformer for text-to-image. You provide a prompt plus a style reference (such as a logo, illustration, or 3D render), and the model produces new images that preserve the key stylistic traits of the original.
Use cases
It’s especially relevant when strict adherence to a brand or art direction matters, while still allowing flexibility in content and composition.
- Brand design and logo variations
- Illustration in a consistent house style
- Concept art with controlled visual language
- Research on controllable, stylized image generation
Research project (not a product)
The site focuses on explaining the method, showing example outputs, and sharing materials for researchers. It’s presented as a demonstration of what style-conditioned generation can achieve, rather than a commercial tool.
