An AI clip for a winter classic — a new neural-network cover of the New Year song from Nu, Pogodi! has racked up millions of views.
Neural networks are once again reimagining Soviet classics. A new AI cover of the New Year song “Tell Me, Snow Maiden, Where Have You Been” from the animated series Nu, Pogodi! has quickly spread across social media — videos featuring the track have collectively gained more than 7 million views. The original clip appeared on Instagram* in the account of blogger komovich.sasha.

The author calls the work “a new experiment with neural networks.” According to her, the track was created entirely with AI: from the sound to the voice processing. The goal was to preserve the “Russian winter atmosphere,” but present it in a more modern form.
The image of the Snow Maiden in the clip was also assembled by neural networks: it is a mix of Russian folk style, kokoshniks, rich textures, and modern accessories. This visual collage highlights the combination of traditional aesthetics and digital technologies.
Judging by the statistics in the post itself, the original video collected hundreds of thousands of likes and saves, nearly ten thousand comments, and thousands of reposts. While the author was editing the clip, her family, by her own admission, was already walking around the house humming the updated version of the song.
The blogger encourages subscribers to save the track, shoot their own New Year Reels with this sound, and tag her in their posts — she promises to repost the best videos. In addition, Sasha teaches people how to work with neural networks: she shows how to make similar clips and create their own songs literally from a single smartphone.
The story of “Tell Me, Snow Maiden…” is a good illustration of how quickly AI tools are entering mass culture: from an experiment in a personal blog to a viral hit is just one neural-network render away.
