What is Automation

GlossaryEthics & Safety

Transferring repetitive actions to a system that performs them according to rules, data or AI decisions without constant manual intervention.

Definition

Automation can be simple, when an action is performed according to a fixed rule, or intelligent, when AI analyzes the text, classifies the request, creates a draft, or selects the next step. The main goal is to reduce routine, speed up processes and reduce the number of manual errors.

Example

After filling out the form, the system automatically creates a task, sends an email to the client and asks the AI to prepare a short summary of the request.

Why it matters

The term is important because many users are looking for AI not for experimentation, but for saving time in real-world processes.

How it works

Automation is built from triggers, conditions, actions, integrations and checks. AI adds flexibility where you need to understand language, documents or context.

Where it is used

  • routine tasks
  • marketing and sales
  • support and documents

Limitations

Poorly configured automation quickly multiplies errors. Important actions require tests, restrictions, and manual control.
