Augmented Reality

Computer Vision

A technology that overlays digital objects, cues, or data onto an image of the real world.

Définition

Augmented reality connects the physical environment with a digital layer. AI helps recognize objects, understand the scene, track camera position, build 3D models and match content to the context. It is used in education, commerce, repair, gaming, navigation and industry.

Exemple

The buyer points the camera at the room and sees how the sofa will look in a real interior.

Pourquoi c'est important

The term is important for finding tools where AI does not work separately from the world, but on top of the camera, objects and space.

Fonctionnement

The system receives the camera image, determines the position and objects, and then places the digital layer so that it appears grounded in reality.

Où c'est utilisé

  • trying on goods
  • training and instructions
  • games and navigation

Limites

AR depends on the camera, lighting, tracking accuracy and device. Poor scene recognition destroys the sense of reality.
