Firebase Studio is Google’s cloud-based development platform (launched April 9, 2025) for building applications from scratch with the Gemini AI model. It combines prototyping, coding, and deployment tools in a single workspace designed for AI-focused projects.
How it works
Firebase Studio is powered by Gemini and can generate code in 15 popular programming languages, including Python and JavaScript. It integrates with 12 frameworks such as React and Flutter, and lets you upload existing projects (up to 500 MB) for analysis and improvement. The environment emphasizes security with SSL/TLS encryption. Five smart assistants are currently in closed testing to help optimize code and answer developer questions in real time.
- Generate code from scratch in about 10 seconds
- Fix errors in a few clicks
- Create prototypes in about 7 minutes
- Generate code documentation
- Built-in app performance analytics
- Export finished code in 4 formats
How to use
Firebase Studio runs as a web app in your browser—no installation required. You sign in with a Google account, choose a project type (web or mobile), optionally upload code, describe your task, review the generated output, set language/framework options, export as a ZIP, and deploy via Firebase Hosting.
Pricing and language
A free tier includes up to 10 projects per month. Premium costs $19/month and removes limits. The UI is currently in English; Russian is in development.
