Google image model for high-fidelity generation and editing

0

Description

Nano Banana Pro is Google’s higher-end model for image generation and editing. In the developer docs it is called Gemini 3 Pro Image. The regular Nano Banana is better for quick drafts and edits. Pro is the one to test when you need readable text inside an image, precise details, multiple references, infographics, brand assets, and higher-resolution output.

What Pro Improves

The main upgrade is control. Nano Banana Pro is better at following complex instructions, rendering words on posters, packaging, and layouts, grounding visuals with Google Search, and working from a larger set of reference images. Google describes support for up to 14 references, improved localized editing, multiple aspect ratios, and up to 2K/4K output.

Where To Open It

The practical entry point is Google AI Studio, linked from this AIDive card. The page opens Google’s official AI Studio surface for the Nano Banana family: sign in, choose an available image model, write your prompt, upload references if needed, and generate. If Pro is not visible, check your region, account, and quota.

For everyday use, the easier path is Gemini: Google says to select Create images and the Thinking model. Nano Banana Pro is also available in some Google surfaces such as AI Mode in Search, NotebookLM, Slides, Vids, Google Flow, and other Google products. For developers, it is available through the Gemini API and Vertex AI as Gemini 3 Pro Image.

How To Try It

  • open Google AI Studio and sign in with a Google account
  • choose an image model from the Nano Banana or Gemini 3 Pro Image family
  • write a plain-language prompt with the subject, style, format, and constraints
  • upload reference images when you need to keep a person, product, style, or palette consistent
  • after the first output, ask for focused edits to text, lighting, camera angle, background, or format
  • review text, facts, and small details manually before publishing

Best Uses

Nano Banana Pro makes the most sense for ad layouts, product cards, educational diagrams, posters, covers, storyboards, and localized visual assets. On AIDive it fits with image generation, photo editing, ad creatives, and product photos. If the project is mainly a video or storyboard workflow, compare it with Google Flow.

What To Watch

Availability and quotas depend on country, account type, and Google plan. Free access can fall back to the original Nano Banana after the limit is reached. Google applies SynthID watermarking to generated images, and factual visuals still need human review: the model helps build the visual, but it does not replace editing.
