What is AI Model Hub

GlossaryAI Infrastructure

A platform or directory where artificial intelligence models are published, searched, downloaded, tested or connected.

Definition

The AI Model Hub helps developers and teams avoid starting from scratch. On such a site you can find a model for text, images, speech, translation, classification, embedding or generation. There is usually a description, license, usage examples, scale files and sometimes online testing.

Example

The developer looks for a model to classify the sentiment of reviews and selects an option with the appropriate language, license, and code examples.

Why it matters

The term is important for choosing tools: a model hub differs from a regular service catalog in that it is often focused on developers and infrastructure.

How it works

The platform stores model cards, versions, files, documentation, metrics and launch examples. Some hubs allow you to publish your own models and track updates.

Where it is used

  • search for open models
  • choosing a model for the project
  • testing and downloading scales

Limitations

Not every model from the hub is safe or legal for commercial use. You need to check the license, data, quality, restrictions and support.
