Apple Intelligence is Apple’s AI system built into iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It was introduced at Apple’s annual event on September 9, 2024, and adds tools designed to speed up everyday tasks across Apple apps.
What Apple Intelligence can do
- Rewrite, edit, and proofread text in Notes, Mail, and other apps, including changing tone (for example, business style)
- Suggest smart replies in Mail and Messages based on conversation context
- Search photos and video moments using natural-language queries (for example, “Alice with a cat in a blue dress”)
- Remove backgrounds or objects from photos and generate stickers from text prompts in iMessage
- Use an updated Siri with a new design, plus the ability to switch between voice and typed requests and keep conversational context
- Prioritize and summarize notifications and highlight messages that need quick attention (including in Mail)
- Record calls, create transcripts, and generate short summaries (with all participants notified when recording is enabled)
