Kimi K2

Kimi K2 is an open-source large language model from Moonshot AI. It’s designed for coding, data analysis, planning, and agent-style workflows, and is built on a Mixture of Experts architecture with 1T parameters (32B active per request).

What Kimi K2 can do

• Handle long inputs up to 128K tokens
• Generate and debug code (including Python and SQL)
• Analyze datasets and produce reports and interactive charts
• Work with large tables (up to 100K rows for visualization tasks)
• Solve advanced math problems (AIME-level)
• Support multimodal tasks with text and images
• Use external tools (17 services) for tasks like trip planning

The model was trained on 15.5T tokens using the MuonClip optimizer. Reported benchmark results include 97.4% on MATH-500 and 53.7% on LiveCodeBench.

How to use Kimi K2

Kimi K2 is available for free via the web platform and mobile apps for Android and iOS. To get started:

• Create an account at kimi.ai
• Choose the interface language (bottom-left)
• Enter a prompt and optionally upload files for analysis
• Adjust coding parameters if needed and view results in real time

The interface supports English and Chinese. Russian UI isn’t available yet, but Kimi K2 can understand prompts written in Russian. Sign-up is available with a Chinese mobile number or a Google account.
